» FREE EDUCATION

Spandana Manasika Vikasa Kendram (Recognised by the department for Welfare of differently (Reg. No. 08 OF 2016) abled government of Andhra Pradesh) situated at Davajigudem, gannavaram, Krishna D.t-521101, Andhra Pradesh, India. Established connection to Helping Hands Welfare Organization for Rural Development Society (Reg. no. 104/2008) . it is the school for mentally retarded children. Since beginning society is continuing this special school since its inception in the year 2008 and slowly progressed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Special schools is providing various services and interventions which include: activities like behaviour modification, physiotherapy, speech and communication, academics, social skills, mobility and other need-based services matching to the individualized programmes. Also providing free education, physiotherapy and other therapies, meditation, games and cultural events which are needed to the children. in addition to this vocational education also giving to support for their better lifestyle and finding employability, especially making them to be independent in their life for that we teach computer education, making bangles, rakhies etc….also tailoring.

» FREE MEAL

Spandana manasika vikasa Kendram started with the good intention of serving children who are mentally retarded and other categories. As a part of pure service free meals providing to all children daily, including breakfast. Never compromise with the quality of the food which we provide to children. Nutrition food like eggs providing regularly. we also have the intention to include many others as donors in this service so that we may provide much more of the best food.

» FREE TRANSPORT

We get students in and around gannavaram about 20 k.m distance. we are providing free transportation to all the children by maintaining two vehicles for hire though it is very expensive to maintain vehicles never felt so and there is no second thought in this regard because our main motto is to render service genuinely to all who are in need. It is very risky to get them daily from such a distance by appointing assistants in a vehicle giving much attention and care towards children welfare.

» AWARENESS PROGRAMMES:

Though we are rendering service to these children we have planned seriously or thought why these types of children what are the causes …? then struck an idea that it is our main duty to bring awareness among the people to prevent the disabilities. So, conducting many awareness programmes throughout the state especially by educating people on remedies to be followed. Focusing on points like and to overcome these as follows

1. Early Marriages

2. Deficiet of Chromosomes

3. Lack of Nutrition food

4. Lack of Medical Aid on Time

5. Over usage of medicines

6. Mental Stress

In addition to these, we also provide awareness by educating parents on schemes, acts etc... of disabled.

» MEDICAL

Disabled children have got very less resistance power so that frequently they fall sick so, medication providing to all the children for their better life by this we give much attention and care to their health and welfare.

» PHYSIOTHERAPY, SPEECH AND OTHER THERAPEUTICS

Mental retarded and CP children are in need of therapeutics so, our intention is not only educating them also supporting them to be independent in their daily activities for that purpose we conduct required therapy so that children who have undergone therapy may not take support of others for their regular activities by this our thought is clearly seen that making them to be free from disability.

» HOME BASED EDUCATION

In the category of mentally retarded there are many children affected by it very severely such children stays in bed for the life they cannot move from bed. In such cases, parents feel the very burdened and one need to be with the child without any employment. We pay attention to such children by sending our trainee teachers to their homes for educating parents and children on toilet skills, dressing etc…

» ABOUT COLLEGE

Helping hands college for mentally retarded teacher training was established to train up the teachers so that they can directly serve the affected children with different categories. Especially this college purpose is to produce trained teachers for the betterment and the welfare of the mentally retarded children the students of this called as teacher trainees they have got an opportunity to learn theory as well as practical studies about Mr Children. This college started to cater for the needs of special educators to serve the targeted groups in government and NGO sectors. This college is Recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India - New Delhi

» SERVICES OF COVID-19

Helping Hands Welfare Organization for Rural Development Society never stopped service particular field always extending helping hands through service to many other fields. As an example, during covid-19 almost every one permitted to home. Due to fear, no one dare to come out of home and the other side lockdown in such a situation for about 60 days Helping Hands society going around the villages from gannavaram to Vijayawada and on the main roads found many orphans, beggars, disabled, poor, and those who in need of help and starving for food. within 60 days around 20000 people were served food by our society in addition to this society provided Groceries to many families really who were suffering at home. Many recognized the services of the society and brought many issues to the notice of the society chairman. Immediately he responded and helped such families financially for their medical aid as well to run their families. His services were recognized by the government and appointed him as one of the committee member of covid-19 by the Krishna district collector. Many times visited hospitals to counsel patients and conducted many programs also distributed fruits and required things to patients. Our Society also collaborated with special teachers and conducted many programs in remoted areas to educate the people on causes of disability and how to overcome disabilities. Society insists ever saying that “prevention is better than cure”.
